Setting up utilities and bills

Electricity, water, and gas are usually prepaid or paid monthly, and you can top up and pay most bills inside Alipay or WeChat (search 生活缴费, "daily payments"). Many buildings also charge a management or property fee (物业费). For internet, the main providers are China Telecom, Unicom, and Mobile, and your landlord or agent can help arrange installation. Ask your landlord for the account numbers and how heating works — central heating in the north is seasonal and often billed separately.
