Beijing Robot Mall (机器人大世界): booking a visit without a Chinese ID

✅ Updated Oct 2026

Robot Mall — officially "Robot World", 机器人大世界 — is the humanoid-robot showroom in Beijing E-Town (亦庄), the development zone in the south-east of the city. It is a working "4S store" for robots rather than a museum: you can talk to the humanoid "Einstein", watch robots play football and dance, and eat in the Robot Restaurant where robot chefs cook classic Chinese dishes. It is open 9:30–17:30. On weekdays it only takes pre-arranged group tours; weekends are open to the public with a limited number of slots, which is why you need a reservation. Here is the catch for foreign visitors. Reservations go through the WeChat mini-program 亦庄机器人Robot-World ("E-Town Robot-World"), and the mini-program requires real-name registration — which in practice means a Chinese ID card. There is no passport path in the booking flow. The city government's own visitor guide says it plainly: foreign visitors need the help of a Chinese ID card holder to reserve. One booking covers up to three visitors, and on the day you show the reservation confirmation code together with your original passport. So the question is not "which app" but "who books for me". Any Chinese ID holder can do it from their own WeChat in a couple of minutes: a local friend or colleague, your hotel's front desk (ask the concierge — larger hotels do this routinely), or a guide. If you know nobody in Beijing yet, post the request on NihaoLife's Ask-a-Local board or send a guide request: a local can reserve under their own ID, add you as one of the up-to-three visitors, and meet you at the entrance if you want company. Two practical notes. Weekend slots fill up, so ask your helper to book several days ahead rather than the night before. And a ticket was around ¥98 per adult in early 2026 — check the current price and hours with your helper when they book, since both have changed more than once since the venue opened. Getting there: it sits in the Yizhuang robot industrial park at Building 47, International Avenue South Zone 3, Jinghai 5th Road (经海五路国际大道三南区47号楼). Take Subway Line Yizhuang to Jinghailu (经海路) and then a short taxi ride, or simply show a taxi driver the Chinese name 机器人大世界. Venue phone: 010-80767011 (Chinese).
