Pharmacies (药店) are common and many basic medicines are sold without a prescription. Bring the generic drug name or a photo, since brands differ, and the pharmacist can suggest an equivalent. Both Western and traditional Chinese medicine are available. Prescription drugs may require seeing a doctor first, and translation apps help a lot here.
