Eight (8, 八 bā) sounds like wealth (发) and is very lucky — you will see it in prices, phone numbers, and chosen dates. Six (6) means smooth and nine (9) longevity. Four (4, 四 sì) sounds like death (死) and is avoided; some buildings skip the 4th, 14th, and 24th floors. When giving money or picking dates, favor 6, 8, and 9 and avoid 4.
