Booking a hospital appointment (挂号)

Most public hospitals take bookings through their WeChat official account (公众号) or the 健康 mini-programs — these usually need real-name verification and a Chinese phone number, which is the tricky part for visitors. Early-morning walk-in registration (挂号) is also possible but queues are long. International hospitals let you book by phone or email in English. A bilingual hospital-companion can book and accompany you.
