NihaoLife is an independent project built by a small team that believes living in or travelling around China should feel less like decoding a puzzle and more like having a knowledgeable friend by your side. Everything here is organised around one question: does it help foreigners live in China? That's why you'll find a curated knowledge base (visas, hospitals, payments, apps — checked by humans, not just generated), city and attraction guides, an AI assistant for everything in between, vetted local guides you can book, and an Ask-a-Local board where real people answer real questions. The assistant you're talking to is a hybrid: sensitive, high-stakes topics (visa rules, medical care, legal basics) come from the vetted knowledge base, while open-ended questions are answered live by an AI model — with a disclaimer, because AI can make mistakes. NihaoLife is young and growing. If something is wrong, missing, or confusing, telling us is genuinely the most helpful thing you can do — post on the Ask-a-Local board or use the feedback button, and a human will read it. 谢谢, and welcome to China!
