Cultural context

Horseback riding (骑马) is woven into the culture of China’s northern grasslands, the homeland of nomadic and Mongolian traditions. Riding the open steppe is one of the country’s great outdoor experiences.

What you'll do

    Safety briefing, meet your horse, and basic riding lesson.

    Guided ride across the grassland at an easy pace.

    Open-field trot or canter for confident riders; tea and rest.

Etiquette tips

  • Wear long trousers and closed shoes; a helmet is provided.
  • Approach horses calmly from the side, never directly behind.
